I did it again
I have this very 'special' gift of hurting my leg (over and over) x 'n' times again. Once during my college days I hurt my leg 4 times in 2 months. The fourth time when I went to the doctor, he raised his hands and told my mom to take me to an astrologer or get some puja done for me to heal my leg.
During the TTC, (I had a ligament tear then) Vidya was advising me to undergo the past life process (Its a process that you can undergo after doing the Art of Living Part 1 program). We discussed some very hilarious scenes about my past lives and the leg, like - in one of my past life, my last word might have been 'Oh my leg' and hence its still haunting me, or I might have tickled someone's leg and hence am carrying a curse, and many more.
I'm actually going to take Vidya's advice and am planning to go for the past life process. Lets hope that the leg problem is solved soon.

Where are you from?
Is one of the most used conversation openers. (after the usual ‘I’m so n so’.) When I’m asked this question I usually answer Bangalore. But when I’m in the mood for some fun (at the other person’s cost) I give an elaborate explanation of my family’s origins. I say something like -
“I’m a half Kannadiga, half Maharastrian. My dad is from Belgaum, mom is from Aurangabad. I was born in Aurangabad, raised in Bangalore. My husband is a Kannadiga Tamilian from Bombay. His family is a Kannadiga family that had settled in Unjuloor, a village in Tamil Nadu. But he was born and brought-up in Bombay.”
This might not be an elaborate explanation, but to a person who expected a mono syllable answer, its a little too much. Sometimes the joke has been on me – the other person has a much longer tale to tell. All in all its great fun.

Spellings and Grammar
I finally extracted the photos that I had taken from my mobile. Found some interesting ones.
All of us have seen mis-spelt boards and horrible grammar. Below are a couple from my collection.
The first was in some loo in Bangalore. The second was in a loo on the way to Shimoga.

The Airtel Sales Gimmick
Tithi and Rahul have been facing problems with their broadband connection for quite sometime. Recently their apartment had intercoms installed. And after that their broadband connection hit rock bottom. Frustrated, Rahul decided to change the service provider from BSNL to Airtel.
When the Airtel person came for installation, he said that the BSNL wires were shorted and hence the problem. Later they released that the intercom technician had come for installation had fiddled around with the connection and might have shorted it. And guess what - that the intercom service provider was Airtel!! Now the shorting was unintentionally or purposefully done – we don’t know!!!!

Arati's Surprises!!!!!
There she goes...again. Every time my sister plans a surprise or buys a gift for me, she has to blurt it (basically goof up) before the occasion. Till date she has never surprised me.
A couple of years ago, she planned a surprise birthday party with Arvindh for me. She took the pains of calling all my friends, ordering a cake, hiding in Aparna's place till 11.30pm, etc...but finally goofed it all up. Most things went according to her plan - Arvindh convinced me to sleep early and ensured that I was in bed by 11pm. Sometime later I heard a mobile ring. I thought it was 12 pm and Arati was calling to wish me (she always does that). As I woke up, I realized it wasn't my mobile, the ring tone was none other than - Arati's!! I came out of my bedroom to see her, Arvindh and Aparna arranging the cake!!!! One of my friends was calling to ask if it was time to come in!! It was 5 minutes to midnight and there went her surprise party!!
I guess my biggest surprise will be when she can actually pull off a surprise on me!!!

Airtel Ad...
But there is a small problem, as Tithi pointed out. Saif's voice sms that is sent to Kareena sounds more like a bad constipation problem than a heart ache!!!

My moment of 'Enlightenment'
It was a nice and quite evening. Perfect time for meditation. I went to my room, closed the door, took the softest pillow for back rest, put my mobile on silent mode, switched off the lights....the usual stuff and sat for my meditation. Somewhere inbetween, I was seeing some flashes of light. It was little strange. After a moment it struck to me that maybe this is the light that people keep talking about. The light of Enlightenment. I was a thrilled....Ah there is the light. It stopped after a while. After that my meditation was disturbed. My mind kept going back to the light and a statement that Bawa had made "All the light seeing (in meditation) is bakwas" (Well...something like that..don't remember the exact words). Well.....when I got up I saw 1 Missed Call on my mobile.
Dissection of the incident: I had kept right next to me and the light I saw was nothing but the missed call I had got.

The Cow Essay
Note:There are no typos in this essay. Everything is legal and as it was written in the exam.If you develop cramps reading this or find your English gone haywire after reading this, please dont blame me :-)
___________________________________________________________________________
CALCUTTA's Telegraph has got hold of an answer paper of a candidate at the recent UPSC examinations. The candidate has written an essay on the Indian cow:
"The cow is a successful animal. Also he is quadrupud, and because he is female, he give milk, but will do so when he is got child. He is same like God,sacred to Hindus and useful to man.But he has got four legs together. Two are forward and two are afterwards.
"His whole body can be utilised for use. More so the milk. What can it do? Various ghee, butter, cream, curd, why and the condensed milk and so forth. Also he is useful to cobbler, watermans and mankind generally.
"His motion is slow only because he is of asitudinious species. Also his other motion is much useful to trees, plants as well as making flat cakes in hand and drying in the sun. Cow is the only animal that extricates his feeding after eating. Then afterwards she chew with his teeth whom are situated in the inside of the mouth. He is incessantly in the meadows in the grass.
"His only attacking and defending organ is the horn, specially so when he is got child. This is done by knowing his head whereby he causes the weapons to be paralleled to the ground of the earth and instantly proceed with great velocity forwards.
"He has got tails also, but not like similar animals. It has hairs on the other end of the other side. This is done to frighten away the flies which alight on his cohoa body whereupon he gives hit with it.
The palms of his feet are soft unto the touch. So the grasses head is not crushed. At night time have poses by looking down on the ground and he shouts his eyes like his relatives, the horse does not do so.
"This is the cow."
P.S.: We are informed that the candidate passed the exam.
